I found an old macrame book, “Macrame Accessories: Patterns and Ideas for Knotting” by Dona Z. Meilach (1972). Macrame, all the rage in the 70s. My grandparents’ house was a testament to that – every house plant and Kleenex box was outfitted much in the same garb as these crafty hippies. Men wearing fringy vests…way to challenge those gender norms.
