So, we've now been in NY for six months. It's all good, believe me. And what a drastic change from Chicago it's been. Chris and I have seen and done plenty, I can't begin to list it all, but we've been to the Whitney, MoMa, Brooklyn Museum, Museum of the City of NY, NY City Ballet (West Side Story Suite), Carnegie Hall (Antony and Cleopatra), Studio Museum of Harlem, Statue of Liberty, the Metropolitan Museum. Been to one Broadway show. We never got to experience so much arts & culture in Chicago, not by a long shot.
Chris is working around the clock as a manager at a museum on the Upper East Side, and I have a development job in Chelsea at a seminary of all places. I love being in Chelsea. I share an office with a couple of others and a feisty, wee Scottish Terrier named Franklin, my buddy.
I just finished my second Master's in Library and Information Science from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in December, and I am overjoyed to be done and have my evenings back. I do plan to find a job in the field. I just haven't looked yet. I like the job I have right now.
What with the demands of finishing another graduate degree and dealing with the move, the art making has been more difficult than ever before, but I'm starting to find my way again. I always do somehow.
I'm looking forward to showing work again.
