Chris and I spent Thanksgiving morning doing something I've always wanted to do -- see the Statue of Liberty. Real New Yorkers rarely if ever make this trip, and since we've only lived here just under three months, I still consider ourselves little more than tourists, so it felt like now or never.
It was kind of a pain (getting out there, the two security screenings, the waiting for the ferry) but a wonderful experience. We had to be at Battery Park at Castle Clinton before 8:00 AM to catch the first ferry, otherwise we wouldn't make our afternoon dinner reservations. It was cold as hell, but we are from Chicago and can take it.
